Break

Feeling pretty good about things. In the last week, I've finished teaching and turned in my grades, submitted two dissertation chapters to my advisor (now past the half-way point), and have a few job interviews lined up for after Christmas. Now I can go and enjoy the holiday with my family.

Pushing On

I'm putting the finishing touches on two chapters tonight, or so I hope. Once those are submitted I can say that I am definitely past the halfway point, as far as the write up.

I had a couple of phone interviews recently. One of them I thought I did quite poorly one. But then I emailed a friend of mine who interviewed with them last year. She thought she did poorly, and then they wanted to interview her again and, after that, invited her to campus, and, later still, offered her the job. She didn't take that job, but it does show that one should never be too confident about interpreting how well you did in a job interview.
